The Dogwood Tree

  I am in LOVE with the dogwood. It is my signature for my work and

 it is a symbol for why I do what I do. The dogwood is a symbol for Jesus 

Christ in many ways and I use this flower often to exemplify my love for

 him though my art. I know God gave me this talent for a reason and I hope 

to share him with everyone, whether it's trough art or in person. 

This fetus represents Jesus before birth and in him are quotes from scripture
that proclaim him as God's only son and who we are in him. We are all born
 the same way but no one can live like he lived. The dogwood branches
contain scripture of his death and how we can be set free though it. 

When Christ was on earth, the dogwood grew

To a towering size with a lovely hue.

Its branches were strong and interwoven

And for Christ's cross its timbers were chosen

Being distressed at the use of the wood

Christ made a promise which still holds good:

"Not ever again shall the dogwood grow

To be large enough for a tree, and so

Slender and twisted it shall always be

With cross-shaped blossoms for all to see.

The petals shall have bloodstains marked brown

And in the blossom's center a thorny crown.

All who see it will think of Me,

Nailed to a cross from a dogwood tree.

Protected and cherished this tree shall be

A reflection to all of My agony."
